Bangkok

So we landed in Bangkok which was a lot smoother than our landing in Chaing Mai and boy did the heat hit us. It was around 35 degrees but there was a high level of humidity meaning it felt like it was in the early 40s. We attempted to take the bus to our hostel but little did we know, or did google know, that the bus route had changed so our bus only took us part of the way. We then had to try, with the help of some locals, convince a cab to take us the rest of the way. We finally made it to the accommodation and we decided to head back out to a market for lunch/snack. There wasn’t much choice there as everything was closing but we had some lunch then headed to China town for a walk around to see the madness that is Bangkok. We then had dinner at the restaurant that created the original Pad Thai recipe (the place had a long queue which made Rich happy) and then we headed for Khao San Road so that Rich could fully understand Bangkok. We were walking down the street for a few seconds before there were people offering us tailor made suits and ‘ping pong shows’. There were even bars which highlighted the fact that they didn’t check IDs. The bars were competing with who could play the loudest music but it was all terrible music. We didn’t stay too long being the old people we were so we headed back to the accommodation.
The following day we headed out early to see some more temples and we also took a boat down the river to a popular market where we had some lunch at the market on the one tiny table the stall had. As we were finishing an old man came to eat so we hurried to get out of his way and so he then decided to buy our lunch for us which was very kind and we tried to say unnecessary but he insisted.
After the trip we had to head back to the hostel to collect our bags before the long journey to the cook islands. First we have to get a plan to Melbourne, have a 6 hour layover before another flight to Auckland (with the Australian version of easy jet) where we stay for a day before heading out to the cook islands where we will have limited to no internet access for 10 days before we leave for LA (so you all get some peace for the next 10 days J)
